Petei graduated from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia with Bachelor of Laws LL.B)(Honours) in 2013. She read in the chambers of Messrs Mohd Amin & Chin and was subsequently retained after she was called to the Malaysian Bar as an advocate and solicitor in 2016. Then, she joined Messrs SP Hew & Co in 2018 where she was primarily assigned to the conveyancing department of the firm. In 2021, she embarked on her next career as a Partner with Messrs Jamaliyah Hidayah & Co.
